What began as a casual family endeavor has evolved into one of Bulgaria's most respected names in meat production.
In 2008, brothers Mladen and Dobromir Radev, together with their father, started raising cattle on 100 decares of land near Dulovo, Bulgaria. Land was affordable, and it felt like a good opportunity to try something new on weekends.
By 2012, what began as a weekend experiment had grown into a full-time venture. The Radev brothers built a modern farm, initially selling live cattle before shifting to producing and distributing Bulgarian beef.
A pivotal moment came when a chance meeting introduced their products to the supermarket chain Fantastico. Within days, Bratya Radevi was delivering fresh beef to its stores. The early stages were tough, but each hurdle pushed them to refine their processes and improve quality.
Today, Bratya Radevi is more than just a single beef farm. They offer:
Producing around 500 heads of beef cattle per year.
Handling both beef and pork, with slaughtering capacity of up to 150 pigs a day, and cutting plant capacity of up to 300 pigs a day
Crafting a range of sausage products for end customers, all made from carefully sourced Bulgarian meat.
Operating their own fleet of trucks to deliver products across Bulgaria, ensuring freshness and full traceability.
Running a company store for customers who prefer to buy directly from the source.
Their driving philosophy remains straightforward: use fresh Bulgarian meat and maintain high standards of quality and transparency.
The Radev family business now employs around 100 people. They operate both the main processing facility in Dulovo and the nearby farm, about 50 km away, where their cattle are raised. A dedicated management team oversees key areas including sales, logistics, production, slaughtering, and finance.
Acquired the slaughterhouse they'd been using for years, taking over when the previous owner retired. Through a mix of bank and personal loans, they ramped up from 100 pigs per week to 300 per day.
Expanded into pork production after buying the slaughterhouse, further diversifying the family's offerings.
Streamlined operations with a structured system to support continued growth.
Began exporting pork sides to Poland, Hungary, Greece, and Romania—an exciting step onto the international stage.
Bratya Radevi supplies:
With demand for quality Bulgarian meat on the rise, the Radev brothers aim to:
Invest in larger buildings and advanced machinery to keep up with growing orders.
Build a new treatment plant as part of a 1-million leva investment in environmental protection.
Bring premium Bulgarian meat directly to customers in major cities across the country.
What began as a casual family endeavor has evolved into one of Bulgaria's most respected names in meat production. Guided by Mladen and Dobromir's dedication to local quality and service, Bratya Radevi continues to grow—proudly upholding a tradition of excellent Bulgarian beef and pork for both domestic and international customers.
