Blanca Dzäbel is part of the export team at El Cochinillo Segoviano S.L., where her role is to drive the company's international growth and build visibility for both the product and the brand beyond Spanish borders.

The company has been in the suckling pig business since 2009, with more than fifteen years rooted in farming and production. Blanca joined the project in October 2024, bringing with her a previous year of experience in the industry and a strong commitment to learning the trade quickly and deeply.

What products or markets do you focus on?

Our focus is suckling pig in various cut formats, targeting European and British markets as our primary expansion territory, with South America as an exciting horizon we're actively beginning to explore.

What's the biggest challenge in today's trade environment?

The biggest challenge is trust. Building it quickly across borders, in markets where you're unknown, with a product that's deeply rooted in a very specific cultural tradition, is not simple. Convincing a buyer in Northern Europe or the UK that a Segovian suckling pig belongs on their menu requires not just a great product, but storytelling, patience, and the right partnerships. That's exactly why platforms like Meat Borsa matter.

What makes a reliable trading partner?

Consistency and communication. A reliable partner delivers what they promise in quality, in timing, and in transparency. For us, it also means someone who understands the product they're working with and is genuinely invested in making it succeed in their market.

One piece of advice for someone entering this business?

Know your product better than anyone else in the room. In the meat trade, credibility is everything, and credibility comes from depth of knowledge, consistency of quality, and the ability to stand behind what you sell. Start with one product, do it exceptionally well, and let that be your calling card.
