Fleischer-Einkauf Leipzig AG (FEL) was founded in 1888 by Leipzig butchers and has survived the turmoil of history ever since. The current management team was installed in 1996, paving the way for the company's development from a retailer of butchery supplies to a modern industrial butchering facility. In 2003, a branch was established in Dresden and a stake was acquired in sogut Fleisch- und Wurstwaren GmbH Leipziger Land. The Dresden branch relocated to Döbeln in 2012. FEL employs 125 people. FEL butchers 500 tons of pork per week.
