Yuhor Strengthens Its Position in Serbia’s Meat Industry

Serbian food company Yuhor has completed the acquisition of Food Star Plus, another meat processing business based in Serbia. The deal is part of Yuhor’s long-term strategy to increase production and widen its product range, especially in poultry.

Both companies operate in Jagodina, a city in central Serbia in Southeast Europe. Financial details of the transaction were not made public.

The move is expected to help Yuhor increase its manufacturing capacity and respond more quickly to demand from customers and retailers.

Who Owns Yuhor?

Yuhor is part of Delta Holding, one of the largest business groups in Serbia. Within the group structure:

  • Delta Agrar owns 85.3% of Yuhor

  • Delta Real Estate holds the remaining 14.7%

The company itself has a long history. It was founded in 1902, making it one of the older food processing brands in the country.

Today Yuhor produces a wide range of meat products and operates a network of more than 50 retail stores across Serbia.

What Food Star Plus Brings to the Deal

Food Star Plus is a much younger company, established in 2014. Its main focus is processing poultry meat, which complements Yuhor’s existing product lineup.

Recent financial data shows that in 2024 the company recorded:

  • Revenue: about 2.8 billion Serbian dinars (around €24 million / $26 million)

  • Net profit: 96 million dinars

By adding Food Star Plus to its operations, Yuhor gains additional production facilities and deeper expertise in poultry products.

What Will Change After the Acquisition

According to the company, the transition will be gradual and designed to avoid disruptions.

Key priorities during integration include:

  • Maintaining stable production and supply

  • Keeping food quality and safety standards high

  • Gradually combining operational and organizational systems

  • Supporting and developing existing employees

Yuhor says customers and business partners should not experience interruptions in deliveries during the integration process.

Leadership Perspective

Yuhor CEO Dragan Miladinović described the acquisition as an important step in the company’s development.

He said expanding into poultry production will strengthen the company’s product portfolio while maintaining the reliable supply and product quality that customers expect.

A Strategic Step for Future Growth

The purchase of Food Star Plus fits into Yuhor’s broader plan to grow within the regional meat market. By increasing production capacity and expanding its poultry offering, the company aims to better serve both consumers and retail partners in Serbia and potentially beyond.
