October was a standout month for poultry production in Türkiye. Chicken meat production surged to an impressive 227,675 tonnes, marking an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Similarly, hen egg production reached 1.88 billion units, up by 2.6% from October 2022. Even turkey meat production, often a smaller contributor to the sector, saw a slight but noteworthy growth of 0.2%.
This growth wasn’t confined to a single month. Looking at the broader picture from January to October, the poultry industry recorded remarkable gains across multiple metrics:
Hen egg production rose by 4.5%.
The number of slaughtered chickens increased by 7.1%.
Chicken meat production climbed by 6.8%.
Turkey meat production saw a striking rise of 15.4%.
