Record-Breaking Fleckvieh Bull Sells for €182,000
Magister PP, a Fleckvieh bull from Upper Bavaria, sets a new price record at auction, showcasing the rising demand for top genetics in cattle breeding.

Upper Bavaria has a new celebrity—and it’s not what you might expect. Magister PP, a young Fleckvieh bull, has made history by selling for an incredible €182,000 at the recent auction in Traunstein, the highest price ever for a bull from the region.
Bred by Christian Niederbuchner and his family in Nußdorf, Magister PP isn’t just expensive—he’s genetically exceptional. As a homozygous polled bull, he carries genes that ensure all his offspring will be born without horns, a trait highly valued for animal welfare and farm safety.
The Niederbuchner family, well-known in breeding circles, has invested years of hard work into building this success. Their farm runs 15 to 20 embryo transfers (ET flushes) annually, focusing on producing elite cattle with strong genetics. Their P line, from which Magister PP descends, has already produced several top bulls used across breeding stations.
This isn’t the first time the Niederbuchners have turned heads at auctions, but Magister PP’s price smashed their previous record of €79,000 for a bull.
With Magister PP now headed to RiVerGen’s artificial insemination station, breeders across Europe will soon benefit from his premium genetics. One thing’s clear—the Fleckvieh breed’s popularity and value are rising fast.
