JBS, the world’s largest meat processing company, is making a big move in Southeast Asia. The company has announced a $100 million investment to build two new meat processing plants in Vietnam.

This expansion supports rising demand for beef, pork, and poultry in the region. The new facilities will mainly handle meat imported from Brazil and will supply both Vietnam and nearby countries.

The plan was sealed with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between JBS and the Vietnamese government during a state visit by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The first plant is set to be built in the Nam Đình Vũ Industrial Park in northern Vietnam. It will include a logistics center and full processing operations. A second plant, with similar features, is planned for southern Vietnam and expected to open two years later.

JBS says this move will help create jobs and boost food security in Vietnam. It’s also part of the company’s wider strategy to grow in fast-developing markets and increase exports from Brazil to Southeast Asia.

This investment marks a significant step in strengthening JBS’s global footprint—especially in a region where demand for protein continues to rise.
