Beef steaks, MeatBorsa and AI walk into a bar...

How meat is sold?

When we started MeatBorsa, we thought we knew how people sell meat - but we were not completely right.

We believed that every listing is very different, but it turned out that companies mostly sell similar products where only quantity and price change.

The very first version of MeatBorsa had 23 fields to describe the listing. Very precise, but very repetitive - and it could take up to 5 minutes to make a new listing.

But, people wanted to post their offers quickly.

The new way of posting listings

So, we went back and changed how new listings are made with following in mind:

  • It should take 10 seconds to post a listing
  • Most things repeat, such as Articles, Incoterms and photos
  • Details can be ironed out, once there is interest

In other words, we ask people to enter only few things, and everything else we guess based on many parameters - such as user, company, type of meat, last listing, last transaction...

And here is the end result - a listing made in under 10 seconds.

So, what?

Well, I am glad you've asked. This simple change resulted in almost 100% increase in weekly listings.

Easy - good. Hard - not good.

And... of course, now there is twice as much meat you can buy when you use MeatBorsa.
